Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Jif Marine 4 1/2 inch long stainless steel folding boat cleat. Now, this durable cleat will let you attach your rope or your fender line to your boat. It is a nice hinge design that'll let you fold the cleat up to be used, or folded down and clips into place when it's not being used.It is a nice sturdy, rust-proof stainless steel construction. It is a bolt on installation.
Now the mounting hardware is not included, but again, to use this, once it's installed, you can just pull up on the cleat and then use it to tie your rope or fender line around there. And then when it's not being used, you just push it down and if you push it into place, there's a little nub right here that'll lock onto that and you can see if it's pushed down. Keeps it from coming back open.Total length on this from one end to the other, is right at 4 3/4 inches. The overall height when it's installed is very tallest point, which is in the middle here is 5/8 of an inch. And then the measurement on the two mounting holes center to center is right at 2 3/4 inches.But again, when that's bolted down, you can see, you can just pull up on your plate, wrap your rope around there.
